How’s Your Hearing?

Hello, and happy Monday, TWP Family!

After dropping the daughters off this morning at school, I turned the radio on for my drive to H-E-B (a grocery store for those who don’t know - “Here Everything is Better”). The three-minute news story I stumbled upon had already started, but these lines caught my attention and made me think of ya’ll:

You can CLICK HERE to read and listen to the article from NPR titled; “Hearing Loss Can Lead To Deadly Falls, But Hearing Aids May Cut The Risk.” Here is where I think you and I, as pastors and ministry leaders, connect:

We risk falling if we lack hearing!
Hearing and practice!

“Why do you call me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ and do not do what I say? As for everyone who comes to me and hears my words and puts them into practice, I will show you what they are like. They are like a man building a house, who dug down deep and laid the foundation on rock. When a flood came, the torrent struck that house but could not shake it, because it was well built. But the one who hears my words and does not put them into practice is like a man who built a house on the ground without a foundation. The moment the torrent struck that house, it collapsed and its destruction was complete.” (LUKE 6:46-49)

Have we forgotten that a “WELL BUILT” man or woman must place daily importance on how or if we can hear Jesus? “If your hearing begins to decline, your risk of falling may rise.” While that statement may be 50% true for those who don’t utilize their hearing aids, it is 100% true for all when they are “built on the ground without a foundation.”

TWP places emphasis on and fights for “WELL BUILT” men and women for The Gospel's sake! Today, let’s start with hearing and practicing what Jesus is speaking. Let us start the week out by digging down deep to lay foundation on The Rock!

I am praying for you, TWP! Peace and love!
